AFTER ‘STEALING’ $16M, THIS TEEN HACKER SEEMS INTENT ON TESTING ‘CODE IS LAW’ IN THE COURTS

Some $16 million in cryptocurrency was stolen in an exploit of a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol last week. The alleged attacker, an 18-year-old Canadian math prodigy, is refusing to return the funds. If the case does go before a judge, it could be a test of “code is law” – a popular phrase in DeFi circles.
