OPENAI TRANSFORMS SAFETY COMMITTEE INTO INDEPENDENT BOARD WITH POWER TO HALT MODEL LAUNCHES OVER SAFETY CONCERNS

OpenAI has recently announced a major transformation of its Safety and Security Committee into an independent "Board oversight committee." This new team will possess the power to delay model launches due to concerns revolving around safety.
